About the app

Sfera — a private archive of real acquaintances.

Material for those who want to understand the app in more depth — App Store and Google Play reviewers, partners, or simply attentive users.

The idea

Sfera is a mobile app that automatically saves the "business cards" of people you crossed paths with in real life: at a conference, in a café, on the train, at a club. This is not a social network, not a messenger and not a dating service — it's an archive of real encounters, a "memory of people".

The core value is not losing chance but valuable acquaintances, without photographing badges or collecting business cards by hand. One scenario: switch Sfera on → meet someone in person → find them in your history later.

How it works technically

When a user switches "Sfera" on, the app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (a radius of roughly 3 metres) to look for other active Sfera users nearby. Devices exchange an anonymous user identifier — with no personal data in the signal itself. After that, the local history on the device stores the time, an approximate place and who exactly it was (the profile is pulled from the server by identifier).

A contact's profile is only partially revealed at first — name, avatar, one tag. Full information (links to social networks, phone number) becomes available only after mutual consent: both sides tap "Request contact", or one side directly accepts the other's request.

Two operating modes

Primary

Event / Venue mode

Switched on manually for a specific event, often via a QR code or an organiser's code. Explicit consent, limited active time.

Secondary

Radar / Always-on

Switched on with an explicit toggle, with a time limit and a constant activity indicator. No hidden tracking — the app always clearly shows that Sfera is active.

What Sfera does not do

No precise geo-tracking

The meeting place is rounded to a district (~1 km) — precise coordinates are never stored, no GPS trail is kept.

No hidden tracking

Bluetooth detection only works while the user has switched Sfera on themselves, with a constantly visible activity indicator.

Doesn't reveal everything at once

Contacts, links and phone number are hidden until mutual consent — by default only name, avatar and one tag are visible.

No feed or likes

There are no public profiles, no news feed, no likes — only the account owner's private history of encounters.
